The short version
We collect only what we need to schedule and perform your service, we do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for. The rest of this page is the detail behind those three sentences.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to Langston's Heating and Air Conditioning (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Florida HVAC and refrigeration contractor located at Jacksonville, FL, and to the website at langstonsheatingandair.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit a service request form, call, text, or email us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- The service address or general service area
- Details about your equipment and the problem you are describing
- Any notes you choose to include in a message to us
You are not required to provide any of this to browse the site. It is collected only when you are asking us to contact you or perform work.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is loaded — such as the type of browser and device, the pages requested, approximate region, and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running, diagnose errors, and understand which pages are useful. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages people read, which services they look for, and whether the site is working on their device. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data such as your approximate location (city level), device and browser type, referring site, and the pages you visit.
We also record when someone taps a phone number, opens online booking, or submits the service request form. These are counted as events so we can tell which parts of the site actually help people reach us. They are not tied to your name, and the phone number recorded is ours, not yours.
IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
Advertising and remarketing
Our Google Analytics property is linked to a Google Ads account. As a result, Google may set advertising cookies and receive measurement data through Google Ads and DoubleClick domains. This allows us to see which ads lead to real service calls, and may be used to show you our ads on other sites you visit.
You can control this directly through Google’s Ads Settings, where you can turn off ad personalization across all participating sites.
Cookies and similar technologies
Beyond the analytics and advertising cookies described above, this website does not use other third-party tracking. We do not sell the data these tools collect, and we do not combine it with your service records to target you individually.
How we use your information
- To contact you about a service request you submitted
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on service or installation work
- To prepare quotes, invoices, and service documentation
- To maintain service history for your equipment or property
- To respond to questions, warranty claims, and disputes
- To meet legal, licensing, tax, and insurance obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.
When we share information
We share your information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Vendors who help us operate — for example our website host (Vercel), analytics and advertising measurement (Google Analytics and Google Ads), online scheduling (Housecall Pro), invoicing software, and payment processor. They may access information only to perform work for us.
- Manufacturers and warranty administrators. When a warranty claim or equipment registration requires it.
- Property owners or managers. If service was requested on a property you rent or manage, service records may be shared with the party responsible for the property.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Calls, texts, and messages
If you call or text us, we may keep a record of the conversation and your phone number in order to schedule and document your service. By providing your phone number on a form, you agree that we may contact you about that request by phone, text, or email. Message and data rates may apply. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying STOP to a text or telling us directly, and we will honor that immediately.
Payment information
If online payment is offered, payment card details are handled by a third-party payment processor and are not stored on our servers. We receive only confirmation of payment and the limited details needed for our records.
How long we keep information
Service records, invoices, and equipment history are retained as long as needed to support warranty claims, licensing and tax obligations, and future service on the same equipment. Inquiries that never became jobs are kept for a shorter period. You may request deletion as described below.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to service records is limited. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we do not collect more than we need, which is the most effective protection available.
Your choices and rights
You may, at any time:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete information, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax, warranty, or insurance reasons
- Ask us to stop contacting you
Contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we will respond within a reasonable time. Florida residents, and residents of states with additional privacy statutes, retain any rights those laws provide.
Children
This website is intended for adults arranging services for a property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site may link to manufacturer pages, financing partners, or review platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate. Read their policies before providing information to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting how we use existing information will be communicated to affected customers where practical.
